Sounds lethal eh? Sounds religiously lethal eh? When you read those words, what came to your mind? Prayer? Love? Faith? a machete? or a gun?
This is the title of a book i saw today. When I was on my way home, I saw a girl, looks like Islam by the hajab on her head. She was reading a book called "The Believer's Weapon". It was a very small book, probably 10-15 pages, and small. About the size of your palm. She was really focused while reading it, and I could tell she was sort of memorizing the messages too. I kinda took a peek at it when the bus was moving as if there is an earthquake... (the guy can't drive... i was annoyed), there are english translation and its some brown language equivalent (not sure which one, it was like lines.. i was too far away). Despite the poor driving of the bus driver, she couldn't take her eyes off that little book. As I look at the book cover further down, I saw a brown dude name. The author is brown, judging by the long name, like five words in his name. (Ahmed Abdu Aziz A___ Hamdan). Something like that.
An islam worked really hard to equip herself. How come I don't recall myself doing that? she really gave me a slap in the face. Looking at how she reads that book makes me feel shameful. When I do my daily devotions, I sometimes just read the daily portion and sleep, or do whatever afterwards. Never was I trying to memorize those verses. I remember back then when we were memorizing those verses, it was so painful. It was only maybe 5-6 verses per 2 hour lession. It was so painful. But that book had like what.. 15 pages of verses... and she didn't look tired at all. Plus the fact that she was doing it in a really terrible condition... you the bus was going all over the place...
Right, so it was a good reminder that I should really try to understand the passages as I go. Nowadays, I am trying to read the passage quickly, like normal, then read it again slowly. Like I chew on each word. Not always like this though, i sometimes drool while going too slow then fall asleep.......................
I do wish you guys have better luck than I do. Like turo said, slow down and smell (and sell?) the flowers. :) It's not a gag, there is a gag elsewhere.
